Our mobile devices have become of daily use, they are always with us and have even become an important tool for our work, which is why they are exposed to several risks that can cause both external and internal damage, such as dropping them on the floor and breaking them or, worse, getting some liquid on them. Unfortunately, these events happen all the time and, on many occasions, phones are rendered unusable.
Although with each new phone that is launched on the market, we offer greater resistance to these events, cell phones are not indestructible. Today we see how all companies fight to have the phone that lasts longer underwater and that their materials are more resistant so that the damage suffered in a fall is not very noticeable, however, every year there are cases where these guarantees offered do not work properly. In the case of Apple, we have been guaranteed since the iPhone 7 water resistance, but this with the passage of time is losing its effectiveness. It is important to know that all materials as in any item that we acquire in the market is deteriorating, so the older our device is the more care we should give.
Although there are many events in which our cell phones can be affected by water, we have some options to save them or avoid minimal damage. I am going to describe you a step by step of what to do in case your cell phone gets wet so you can try to avoid damaging it.
It may sound ironic, but it is important when your cell phone gets wet to stay calm, many times you try to turn off and turn on the phone even run to connect it, and this causes a short circuit and damage your cell phone. It is important that once you remove the cell phone from the water, turn it off completely and start drying it on the outside. Take the necessary time to dry the cell phone in the best way, remove the cell phone case and remove the SIM tray, dry the Lightning connector and if it is the case the headphone jack, try to remove as much moisture as you can manually.
The damage of our cell phone also depends on the liquid that has wet it, it is not the same if it gets wet with mineral water than if it gets wet with salt water. The damage to the cell phone will also depend a lot on what kind of liquid gets into your system. An important fact is that iPhones have humidity sensors in their trays, this is of great help in the case of flipping phones, since we will know if the cell phone that is being sold has been affected by any liquid.
